Welcome to the official website of the American Wine Society - the oldest and largest consumer-based wine organization in the US!
The American Wine Society (AWS) is for anyone who is interested in wine and wants to learn more about it. Our mission is the "appreciation of wine through education" and our membership includes wine lovers from novice to expert, amateur and professional winemakers, and people in all aspects of the wine trade. With AWS members in forty-one states and over 120 chapters throughout the US, we offer the opportunity for members to learn about wine, winemaking, and wine & food pairing - with others who share your love of the grape.
AWS members receive two regular publications, the AWS News and the AWS Wine Journal. In addition, AWS members have the opportunity to become certified wine judges through our Wine Judge Certification Program (look under the "Education" tab). They may also attend our annual 2 1/2 day National Wine Conference in November. Your AWS membership card will also earn you discounts at wineries and other businesses throughout the country.
