National Tasting Project Updates:

The 2010 National Tasting Project: the wines of Chile and Argentina!

The NTP is an opportunity for AWS Chapters across the US to sample the same group of wines and report the scores. Instructions for conducting the tasting were sent to all Chapter Chairs in March. If you need another copy of the information, please contact Dennis Cassady at ntp@americanwinesociety.org.

Upon completion of the tasting, chapters should record their results on the 2010 NTP Reporting Form (click on the link to download it) and email it to pamdavey@aol.com. We would like to have 50 chapters participate in this event (we had 46 in 2009). As of June 15, we have received results from the following chapters:

Detroit Metro
Indian Valley
Louisville
Mesilla Valley
Mt. Nittany
Piedmont Wines & Vines
Pioneer Valley Winemakers

Watch how we’re doing on reaching our goals! We hope your chapter will participate in this event.

The information to conduct the tasting has been sent to all Chapter Chairs and Regional Vice Presidents. Here is a link to the background information on the region and tasting presentation instructions. Since this is a blind tasting, the information on the specific wines we will be using is only available to Chapter Chairs and RVPs. If you need the wine information and have not yet received it, please contact the AWS National Office.

We are developing a way for chapters to report their results directly on the web – watch for more information this spring.
